My professional career has been centered around athletics since graduating college! I attended Purdue University graduating with my degree in athletic training in 2009. I spent 2 years in New Mexico working with the New Mexico State softball team as their graduate assistant athletic trainer and 4 years back in Indiana at McCutcheon High school as the head athletic trainer. After moving to Gainesville I attended Florida school of Massage and obtained my licensure in massage therapy in March of 2017. I have specialized in sports massage ever since working with crossfit athletes, University of Florida athletes and members of the Gainesville community.
Sports massage deals more specifically to mobility issues, nagging aches and pains. Some people would describe it as "deep tissue' where pressure and intention can be more intense compared to a spa type relaxation style of massage. I truly believe that sports massage is a piece of the health care puzzle. As a massage therapist I consider myself an active part of a complete health care team.
